  • Responsibilities:
    The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) seeks a candidate to work as Senior Information Management  Assistant at its Representation in Sofia, Bulgaria.
    Contract period
    12 months on a UNHCR standard fixed term contract.
    Renumeration Package

    Tasks
    Under the direct supervision of the Representative, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
    Operationalize country-specific common data standards and promote them with partners.
     
    Compile, aggregate and analyse data and information elements required to produce standardized information products and implement data/information collection plans for baseline and context-specific data.
     
    Support the operation in the analysis of processed data and information and perform data quality and consistency control.
    Facilitate the analysis of cross-border information between relevant countries.
    Train UNHCR staff and Partners involved in information management activities.
    May be required to collect GIS data, update maps and undertake field trips to project sites.
    Perform any other duty, as requested.
    Qualifications

    ■Completion of the secondary education with post-secondary training/certificate inSocial Sciences, Statistical Sciences, Information Systems or related field.

    ■Minimum of five years of previous job experience relevant to the function.

    ■Strong analytical, communication, inter-personal and organizational skills.

    ■Knowledge of the local language and excellent knowledge of English and/or another relevant UN Language.

    ■Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    ■Computer skills (MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
