    The Embassy of Denmark in Sofia, whose primary activities are pointed towards promoting the friendly bilateral relations between Denmark and Bulgaria, strengthening the partnership between the two countries in the spheres of politics, trade, business, and culture, as well as offering counsel to Bulgarian and Danish citizens who are interested in working or studying in the respective country, is looking to recruit a qualified professional for the position of

               Personal Assistant to the Ambassador

    The job holder will work closely with the Ambassador and the overall role is to provide administrative assistance and other support functions to the Ambassador and ensure that the Ambassador’s office is run efficiently in line with the Embassy’s policies and procedures.

    The main duties are, but not limited to:
    • Managing the Ambassador’s calendar and continuously providing the Ambassador with an updated agenda
    • Organising programmes and logistics related to high level official visits
    • Consultations with other sections as appropriate on incoming invitations where the Ambassador’s presence is required along with relevant preparations/follow-up
    • Being the first point of contact by phone, mail and email for internal and external callers seeking contact with the Ambassador; managing correspondence
    • Managing the Ambassador’s local and international travel, including obtaining of visas and travel clearance which may require classified handling
    • Translation activities
  • Requirements:
    The preferred candidate will meet the following requirements:
    • University degree
    • Fluent command of written and spoken English and Bulgarian
    • Previous experience on a similar position – experience acquired at governmental sector would be an advantage
    • Experience in Protocol is an advantage
    • Proven IT skills, especially in Outlook and Microsoft Office
    • Excellent communication skills leading to networking and weighed analysis and use of information; welcoming attitude
    • Good organisation awareness: understanding the core values and vision of the Embassy stipulated in the Embassy Code of Conduct
    • Proactive individual who is capable to think ahead and take his/her own decisions
