  • Responsibilities:
    We are looking for a professional who can strengthen our Finance team in the Accounting area.


    • Plan, organize and manage the accounting operations of the Accounting and tax department.
    • Manage and develop a team of more than 20 accountants
    • Collaborate and support the activities of other finance departments and directorates in the bank
    • Manage and supervise the execution of the tasks of the accounting staff (daily operation of bookkeeping - expenses, Fixed assets, Investment properties acquisition and sale, reconciliation of accounts payable/ receivable, cost control, etc.).
    • Support and supervise the bookkeeping activities related to the SPV
    • Take an active role in tax inspections and external audits
    • Liaise with institutions (tax authorities) and external vendors related to her/his responsibilities
    • Responsible for preparation of tax returns and other tax reports in accordance with the local tax legislation and Group requirements;
    • Develops accounting methodology in line with the IFRS amendments, tax legislation, KBC group requirements.
    • Propose and undertake changes in the accounting module in SAP driven by change in process or amendments in the legislation.
    • Preparation of reports requested by the management, internal audit, external auditors, external regulatory bodies;
    • Actively participate/ run projects related to accounting competences; improve work processes and propose optimization measures
    • Provide support and assistance to the Finance Director in the departmental administrative functions
    • Provide competent opinion on tax and financial impact (considering IFRS and Group requirements) on drafting of contracts or structuring deals related to acquisition of Investment properties on NPL loans
  • Requirements:

    Hard skills as follows:

    • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics;
    • Previous experience on management position in the Accounting area/ Controlling/Audit of at least 4 years;
    • Banking experience is a plus but not mandatory;
    • Experience with SAP will be considered as advantage
    • Good knowledge on tax legislation (Corporate tax act, Individual tax act, VAT, local fees and tax act, Transfer pricing, etc.).
    • Good knowledge on IFRS and practical experience on IFRS interpretation.
    • ACCA/ CIMA qualification would be considered an advantage.
    • Excellent computer skills – MS Office;
    • Excellent English, both written and spoken.
